Higher education has a significant effect to change the status of anyone as well as his/her family and the nation. For the people of developing countries like Bangladesh, it’s the most important. To complete the higher study one can choose Europe or any where else. But, most of the students don’t know how and where to apply. That’s why, today I would like to mention some information and useful sites for those who are interested to come Europe with scholarship for the higher study.
As I know, before applying abroad for scholarship one has to do couple things: to convert your all documents (mark sheets and certificates) in English, take international passport and birth certificate. Afterwards, make a pdf file of your all documents by scanned then you can easily send your documents to the employer or institution with your soft copy of application by email where it’s applicable and keep your CV up-to-date. Furthermore, you have to write down a motivation letter within one page indicating your interest and causes of interest as well. It’s better to complete IELTS/TOEFL. But it’s not mandatory for every EU countries. In that case, you can collect a certificate from your head of the department or the respective authority that you have finished your degree with the medium of instruction in English if the institution’s education system is English. Every young graduated student and young teacher should intend to high score in IELTS/TOEFL which help you to broad your area. World is very competitive, therefore, you have to make yourself perfectly so that you can survive in the field.
In EU, couple of scholarships offer for the developing countries, for example:
- DAAD: in Germany (http://www.daad.de/en/)
- VLIR: in Belgium (www.vliruos.be)
- nuffic:in Netherlands (http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships)
- Eramasmundus: EU ( http://erasmusmundus.troped.org/scholarship.jsp)
- COMMONWEALTH: in UK (http://www.cscuk.org.uk/)
Here I also mentioned some useful websites which are helpful for you:

- www.academictransfer.org ( all kind of jobs and positions in Netherlands)
Beside these, a lot of scholarships also provide by the university itself in different subjects ( e.g. Ghent University, Belgium; Delft University, the Netherlands; Padova University, Italy etc.). I heard from some of my friends that they said we applied lot, but no response. In this case, my suggestions: you have to be patient and apply more and more, you should spend at least one hour for searching scholarship every day, never stop your searching as well as applying until get something and don’t be frustrate. I hope one day you will get good news in your mail box.
In general, Western European countries’ education system is better than eastern European countries. Respect to quality of education and the opportunity of the scholarships I think one can apply in UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany. Denmark, Finland, Spain, France and Italy also have good opportunity. But, if you get scholarship anywhere in Europe, I think it’s better to come and try to achieve good result then of course you will be found a suitable place for job.
Good Luck!!
