খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন আর আমাদের মাঝে নেই । জার্মানির ফ্রাঙ্কফুর্টে বসে জানতে পারলাম কোপেনহেগেন থেকে মুনির ভাইয়ের এক টেলিফোনে। ইন্টারনেটে অনলাইন নিউজগুলো খোলায় ছিলো কিন্তু তখনও এই নিউজটি এসে পৌছেনি। খবরটি শোনার সাথে সাথে ১/১১-এর দেশদ্রোহী মঈন-ফকুরুদ্দিনের সময়ে দেলোয়ার হোসেনের সাহসী ভূমিকার কথা মনে পড়লো। বিএনপিকে নিশ্চিহ্ন করার দেশি-বিদেশি ষড়যন্ত্র ও দলের কঠিন সময়ে তাঁর সাহসী ভূমিকা ও আপসহীন নেতৃত্ব সারাদেশের লাখ লাখ নেতাকর্মীকে বিএনপির পতাকাতলে ঐক্যবদ্ধ রাখতে প্রেরণা জুগিয়েছিলেন।
বর্তমান রাজনীতির দুর্বলতার সুযোগে একটি স্বাধীন দেশে পরাধীনতার আধুনিক শিকল পড়ানোর জন্য ১/১১-এর জন্ম দিয়েছিলো কিছু সুবিধাভোগী দেশীয় সুশীলেরা এবং তাদের মাখন খাওয়া প্রবাসী সন্তানেরা। ১৭৫৭ সালে পলাশীর প্রান্তরে স্বাধীন বাংলার সূর্য যেভাবে ডুবে গিয়েছিলো, সেই একই অশনী বার্তা ছিলো ১/১১-সরকারের সকল অবৈধ কর্মকান্ডে। খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন সেই অশনী বার্তাটা টের পেয়েছিলেন বলেই আমৃত্যু বাংলাদেশের সার্বভৌমত্বের স্বার্থে সংগ্রাম করে গেলেন। বিএনপি এবং বাংলাদেশ সমার্থক এটাই প্রমান করে চলে গেলেন তিনি, কিন্তু বাংলাদেশী জাতীয়তাবাদী আদর্শে বিশ্বাসী সমর্থকেরা এটা সঠিকভাবে উপলদ্ধি করে দেশের রাজনীতিকে গুনগত পরিবর্তনের দিকে নিয়ে যেতে পারবে কিনা সেটাই এখন প্রশ্ন।
বিভিন্ন ব্লগে ১/১১-এর সমর্থকেরা নিরপেক্ষতার চাদর গায়ে চড়িয়ে সারাদিন বিএনপির বিরুদ্ধে বিভিন্ন মিথ্যাচারে লিপ্ত থাকতো এমনভাবে যেন এটাই এদের একমাত্র পবিত্র কাজ। এমনি এক সময়ে ১/১১-এর ধূর্ত নায়কেরা দেশকে দূর্নীতি মুক্তের নামে রাজনীতিকে চার দেওয়ালে বন্দী করে, জনগণের বাক-স্বাধীনতা হরন করে তাদের উপর জরুরী আইন চাপিয়ে দিয়ে বর্ণচোরা দেশীয় সুশীলেরা নব্য ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানীর শাসনকার্য পরিচালনার পরিকল্পনার অংশ হিসাবে বাংলাদেশী জাতীয়তাবাদী ধারার রাজনীতিকে নিশ্চিহ্ন করার বিবিধ যড়যন্ত্রে লিপ্ত হয়, কিন্তু দেলোয়ার হোসেনের সাহসী ভূমিকার কাছে দেশদ্রোহীদের যাবতীয় অপকৌশল, অপচেষ্টা ব্যর্থ হয়ে যায়। ১/১১-এর অবৈধ সরকারের সকল অগণতান্ত্রিক সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে যিনি সর্বদা সোচ্চার ছিলেন তিনি আর কেউ নন, খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন। আর তাই এতে ক্ষুদ্ধ হয়ে সুশীল শ্রেনীর পুত-পবিত্র পুত্র-কন্যারা মিডিয়াতে দেলোয়ার সাহেবের বিরুদ্ধে নানা মিথ্যাচার ও বিদ্রুপ করতেন। এরপরেও খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন ঈর্ষাবশত কাউকে কিছু বলেছেন তার কোন প্রমান নেই।
১/১১-এর রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষন থেমে থাকবে না, কারন ১/১১-এর সময়েই দেশে সেক্যুলার মুল্যবোধ জোরপূর্বক প্রতিষ্টার উদ্দেশ্যে পিলখানা হত্যাযজ্ঞের নীল-নকশার পরিকল্পনা চুড়ান্ত হয়, এবং তা পরবর্তীতে কি নিষ্ঠুরভাবে বাস্তবায়িত হয়েছে তার দাগ এখনো শুকিয়ে যায় নি, এই নৃশংস ঘটনা দেশপ্রেমিক প্রতিটি বাংলাদেশীদেরকে ভাবিয়ে তুলেছে তা আর বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী বাংলাদেশে ১/১১ ছিলো স্বাধীনতা এবং সার্বভৌমত্বের উপর এক চরম হুমকী। কিন্তু সেই একই ধারাবাহিকতাতে বর্তমান আওয়ামী সরকার পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। স্বাধীনতা এবং সার্বভৌমত্ব রক্ষার স্বার্থে আমাদের রাজনীতির প্যাটার্ণ বা ধরনটা কেমন হবে তার এক উজ্জল দৃষ্টান্ত রেখে গেছেন খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন। বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের চরম দুর্দিনে মহাসচিব হিসাবে তাঁর এই অবদান শুধু বিএনপিই নয়, সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশও একদিন উপলদ্ধি করতে সক্ষম হবে।
মানিকগঞ্জ জেলার কৃতী সন্তান এডভোকেট খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন মজলুম জননেতা মাওলানা ভাসানীর আদর্শে অনুপ্রানিত হয়ে ১৯৫৭ সালে ন্যাশনাল আওয়ামী লীগে (ন্যাপ) যোগ দিয়ে সক্রিয় রাজনীতি শুরু করেন। এছাড়াও ছাত্রাবস্থায় তিনি ১৯৫২ সালের ভাষা আন্দোলনে সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহন করেন এবং পরবর্তীতে তাঁর অবদানের স্বীকৃত স্বরুপ বিগত জোট সরকার তাঁকে একুশে পদকে ভুষিত করে। ১৯৬৯ সালের গণঅভ্যুত্থানের গুরুত্বপূর্ন নেতা হিসাবে ন্যাপের প্রার্থী হিসাবে ১৯৭০ সালের নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। ১৯৭১ সালে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের অন্যতম সংগঠক হিসাবেও তিনি ভূমিকা রাখেন। ১৯৭৮ সালে শহীদ প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়াউর রহমানের গঠিত বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের জন্মলগ্ন থেকেই তিনি সংযুক্ত থেকে বিএনপির রাজনীতিতে সক্রিয় ছিলেন। ১৯৯০ সালে স্বৈরাচার এরশাদ বিরোধী আন্দোলনে বিএনপির নেতৃত্বাধীন ৭ দলের লিয়াজো কমিটির সদস্য হিসাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ন ভূমিকা রাখেন দেলোয়ার হোসেন। তাঁর বর্ণাঢ্য রাজনীতির জীবনে বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি গণতান্ত্রিক আন্দোলনে এই বর্ষীয়ান নেতা গুরুত্বপূর্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতির ইতিহাসে এক অনন্য ব্যক্তিত্বে পরিনিত হয়েছেন। তিনি ২য়, ৫ম, ৬ষ্ঠ, ৭ম, ৮ম জাতীয় নির্বাচনে বিজয়ী হয়ে ৫ বার সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হন, এবং দুই বার সরকারী দলের এবং একবার বিরোধী দলের চিফ হুইফ হিসাবে সংসদে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। পরবর্তীতে ১/১১-এর অবৈধ সরকারের সময়ে বিএনপির গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নেতারা গ্রেফতার হলে বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীদের উপর অমানবিক নির্যাতন নেমে আসে, এমনি এক পর্যায়ে বিএনপি চেয়ারপার্সন দেশনেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়া গ্রেফতার হবার আগ মুহূর্তে ৩রা সেপ্টেম্বর ২০০৭ সালে দেলোয়ার হোসেন মহাসচিবের দাযিত্ব পান এবং জীবনের ঝুকি নিয়েও দলকে সকল যড়যন্ত্রের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করে নিজের সততা ও দৃঢ় নেতৃত্ব দিয়ে বিএনপির ঐক্য এবং সংহতি ধরে রেখে রাজনৈতিক অঙ্গনে এক নতুন মাত্রা যোগ করেন।
১/১১-এর সময়ে ব্লগে আমার একটি শ্লোগান থাকতো আর তা হলো SAVE BANGLADESH. বাংলাদেশকে নতুনভাবে গড়ে তুলতে এবং রাজনীতির অসুস্থ অংশকে কেটে ফেলার উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে ইতিমধ্যেই নতুন প্রজন্মের যুব সমাজ বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিতে প্রবেশ করছে। এই ভাবধারার রাজনীতির যথোপযুক্ত পরিবেশ বিকাশের নিমিত্তে দলের আভ্যন্তরীন গ্রুপিং, আত্মীয়-করণ, স্বজনপ্রীতি ইত্যাদি অপসংস্কৃতি থেকে রাজনীতিকে মুক্ত করে দেশে বহুদলীয় গণতান্ত্রিক শাসন ব্যবস্থার পূনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠা, বিগত অবৈধ জরুরী সরকারের প্রেতাত্মার আছর থেকে দেশকে মুক্ত করা, বিদেশী আধিপত্যবাদের থাবা থেকে দেশের স্বার্থ রক্ষা করা এবং জনগণের ভাগ্যোন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে বিএনপির সকল স্তরের নেতাকর্মীরা সর্বদা তাঁর অনুসৃত নীতি-আদর্শ বাস্তবায়নে শ্রদ্ধাশীল থাকবে - এই দৃঢ প্রত্যয় করছি।
মজলুম জননেতা মাওলানা ভাসানী, শহীদ প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়াউর রহমান এবং দেশনেত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার সাথে রাজনীতি করে দেশের জন্য বিভিন্ন অবদান রাখেন তা শ্রদ্ধার সাথে স্মরন করে বিশিষ্ট মুক্তিযোদ্ধা দেলোয়ার হোসেনের শোকাহত পরিবারের প্রতি রইল সমবেদনা এবং পরিশেষে আল্লাহর কাছে তাঁর বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফেরাত কামনা করছি ।
Expected tasks ahead of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (BNP’s Acting Secretary General) in leading the party to success
Congratulations to Mr Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for assuming the role of party Mohashachib. So far I have come to know about Mr Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, I am highly impressed on his personality, thoughts and skills. I hope that he will be able to bring some qualitative change in the party and materialize the aspirations of many countrymen.
It's a very good gesture that he has recognized the great contribution of ex Secretary General Khondokar Delwar Hossain who held the helm of the party after 1/11 when many BNP MPs and ministers betrayed the party and joined hands with 1/11 conspirators to demolish the party and Zia family.
Some of the many tasks ahead for him to accomplish are:
1. Reorganizing the Party. To strengthen the organization of the party by incorporating potential old and new individuals. He needs to take efforts in identifying the black goats in the party who lost credibility to local people because of their corruption, criminal acts and betrayal to the party and who have got little chance to win because of lost image. He cannot afford to neglect people’s aspiration for change. He needs to conduct a talent hunt at grass-root level in order to improve party image and prospect for success as the party suffers from good leadership crisis in many constitutions. In more than hundred constitutions, many main-stream (Muldhara) leaders have been expelled by corrupt and betrayers who got chance to form pocket committees and now always surround the central leaders to confirm their nomination, these opportunists need to be identified.
2. Regaining respect. To bring back the lost respect for the politicians which most of them lost due to corruption, inability and misuse of power in previous terms. Party has to decide some criterion on eligibility for nomination. Our nation is going backward because of ineligibility of maximum political leaders who lack in proper education, leadership and management skills, patriotism, principle, reputation etc. Many candidates are just imposed on the voters by giving party nomination without even checking their criminality background.
3. Official effectiveness. To bring change in official activities of the party, arrange collection of regular reports from each constitution. As the political leaders are representatives of local people, he has to collect views of local leaders to accommodate in the party’s view and express it in the media. Any policy matter has to be expressed in written and officially for record as people are fade up with politician’s verbal words/promises - most of which they do not keep.
4. Propagation for support. To conduct strong propagation on various target audience such as own party supporters, opposition supporters, neutral voters, foreign diplomats, international organizations and world leaders in order to raise BNP’s image as an anti-terrorism and democracy loving party. Every voter has to be made aware of the misrule of Awami regime. One thing is very important which needs to be made clear to the nation- what BNP wants to deliver if it comes to power; people are still quite unclear why they should support BNP and respond to BNP’s call for movement.
5. Devising a grand strategy. Aim should not be mere going to power but delivering a good governance for changing the face of the country by bringing sustainable development as ultimate success of a political party lies in bringing smile to people’s face. In order to oust the dictator regime- a grand strategy needs to be prepared in order to create awareness of people, increase the number of party supporters, initiate people for resistance and movement for victory. As Awami regime’s failure does not qualify BNP to be chosen- BNP needs to formulate its program for national development.
6. Making party-stand clear. BNP needs to make party stand on certain national issues clear to people; such as - cancelling unconstitutional CHT Treaty and anti-state transit/corridor treaty, protesting border killings, exporting of natural resources, achieving self-sufficiency in producing daily needed products and machineries, continuation of cross-fire, torture on remand, skill development and employment of millions of youths, use of foreign loans, govt’s change of constitution by discarding 5th amendment, Caretaker govt system, trial of Pilkhana conspirators and failure to rescue 57 Army Officers, trail on Share Market doom, trail of 1/11 conspirators, attack on Islam and Islamic parties, education policy, politicization of Administration and Judiciary, protection of human rights, right of organization and freedom of speech, preserving national security, sovereignty, culture, strengthening Defence Forces, reform in Anti-Corruption Commission etc. This will help people to make a judgment about considering BNP.
7. Monitoring on party representatives. He needs to keep a continuous surveillance on own party politicians/leaders’ (all MPs and ex MPs/ministers) activities, their previous record on criminality, corruption, loyalty to party and image in respective constitution. Investigation reports published in national dailies and reports collected from each constitution will give him a clear picture about the status of these politicians in their respective areas. Ex MPs with God Father title for crime and corruption should not be allowed to represent the party if he ( Mr Alamgir) wants to lead the party to victory.
8. Advisory Committee. Any policy related decision on party matters needs to be taken after detailed discussion in the advisory forum. For national issues- an advisory committee should be formed incorporating party leaders, prominent intellectuals, educationists, civil and military professionals, business leaders, social and human right workers, journalists/writers, lawyers etc.
9. International support. In order to counter Awami propaganda and raise own party image- he needs to give emphasis on identifying potential Bangladeshi persons living abroad to communicate with foreign MPs, ministers, prominent personalities, international organizations like UNO, Amnesty Intl etc. Some Godfather titled corrupt/traitor persons have been given appointment in central committee to gather international support; this needs to be reviewed with immediate effect.
10. Maintaining the initiative. So far, BNP has reacted to the issues created by Awami Govt. Issues like Transit treaty, Pilkhana tragedy, changing of Zia Intl Airport’s name, border killings including Felani tragedy etc- BNP has not or could not undertake any effective step to protest and resist govt’s action. People have developed apprehension as to whether BNP will be able to perform the duties of a responsible Opposition Party in defending vital national interests. Every program and speech should be directed from BNP under a well-coordinated plan/strategy so that initiative is retained in BNP’s hand and govt is compelled to react only on BNP’s chosen field.
Conclusion. Success of Mr Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will depend on how successfully he could bring qualitative change in party organization and grass-root level leadership, raise party’s image and support both nationally and internationally, counter the propaganda of the Awami regime and attract people to party’s objectives in nation building, develop nationwide awareness about anti-state activities and human right violations by the govt, prevent the govt from clinging to power by conspiracy, execute the National Movement plan in achieving victory in the next election and if successful then providing good governance to the nation.
As this govt will use repression, remand, threat, money, media, influence and power on Police/RAB/Army/ Dudok/Judiciary/Administration/Election Commission, crossfire, secret killing, kidnapping and active support of the neighboring country to preserve their power- ousting this repressive regime will not be a very easy task rather a great challenge. Let us pray for his grand success.
